This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit the Log Beaver website, download the app, activate a Pro license or contact support.

What we process

• Website browsing: your browser necessarily shares technical data such as IP address, user agent, timestamps and requested pages with the hosting provider when you access the site.
• Checkout and free download delivery: when you use the Lemon Squeezy checkout or lead magnet flow, Lemon Squeezy processes your email address, order details, billing information and payment data as merchant of record. Their own privacy terms also apply: Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.
• License activation and validation: the app sends your license key, machine name and Lemon Squeezy activation instance identifier to Lemon Squeezy in order to activate or revalidate a Pro license.
• Local app data: the app stores license state, activation date, machine name and opened-file counters locally on your device. Your log contents are processed locally for search and filtering.
• Support requests: if you email us, we process the information you choose to share with us in order to answer your request.

What we do not do

• We do not intentionally upload your log file contents to our servers.
• We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers on this website.
• We do not require an in-app account to use the desktop app. Checkout and download delivery can still require an email address through Lemon Squeezy.

Purposes and legal bases

• Operate the website: legitimate interest in serving and securing the site.
• Deliver the free download or paid product: performance of a contract and pre-contractual steps.
• Activate and protect Pro licenses: performance of a contract and legitimate interest in preventing abuse and managing refunds or revoked licenses.
• Support and compliance: legitimate interest and legal obligations where applicable.

Recipients

• The hosting provider identified in the Legal Notice page.
• Lemon Squeezy for checkout, tax handling, billing, download delivery and license services.
• Service providers strictly required to answer support requests, if any.

International transfers

Some recipients may process data outside your country. When that happens, the relevant provider is responsible for applying the safeguards required by applicable privacy law. Please also review the provider policies linked on this page.

Retention

• Website server logs are kept for the period defined by the hosting provider.
• Order, billing and checkout data are retained by Lemon Squeezy under their legal obligations.
• Local app license data remains on your device until you remove the app data or the app rewrites the license state.
• Support emails are kept for as long as necessary to handle the request and related follow-up.

Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, including the CNIL in France.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not intentionally set analytics or advertising cookies at the time of the latest update shown above. Separate third-party pages such as Lemon Squeezy checkout may apply their own technologies under their own policies.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the data we control. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
